Fasion Photography
Application:
Fashion photography is images of people showing the puplic, who read the magazines, the latest trends. Some of the photographers, more in the 20th centrey have become more outragous and contriveral, one of these photographers is ..... who took a picture of a naked male man with a tatoo on his bottom, also here was another photo, taken by another photographer, of a African lady holding a white child which now dosent seem a problem but it wasnt when the picture first came out.
Contexts:
There are many places where they show of there fasion photography the more popular ones are magazines, billboards, buses but they also find places where it is popular enough for there target anudience to see the advert.
Teqniques:
They use many different tecniques to create fashion photography including where the shoot is going be, these could be in a studio or they could go anywhere around the world places like Paris, New York and London just so they can get the right images for the selection of photos that they are taking.
They also try and make sure that they are including any new trends that are out at the moment and that they think that the audience would be intrested in.

Portraiture
Application
Portraiture is a portrait picture of someone or something. Normally more of a person than an item. When people started getting portrait pictures they had to be rich and have power, but when it came to the picture being taken it was the photographer that had the power to take the picture whenever he felt right. The People being photographed would normally get it of themselves, with their family or with their friends.
As you can see in the left side of this picture of a Pope, the Pope is sitting high in his chair wearing all his ropes, his hat and on his hand is a ring which could also symbolise power. In the right of the picture, Francis Bacon has painted an abstract of the orignal which shows a different side of the Pope, which he might be portraide as a Crazy not very nice man.
Contexts
Portraiture pictures can be seen in every day use, these can be seen in Books, people have created books with all their photographs in there so that they can be seen by who is interested, Year books, which normally have a picture of each class mate or a whole class or school photo, ID cards, which can be used to show someone who you are if there are age limits or if you need to know or want to find out who they are, stamps and money which has a portrait of the queen on them and art gallery's which has many portraits of people in them.
Techniques
Many photographers don't take the picture straight away. Like if the person that is being photographed is posing at the time they wait until they are relaxed and not expecting the picture to be taken. They liked them having a natural expression.
This is a picture by Walker Evans, which was a picture taken in the depression, as you can see the woman in the picture does not look happy about the picture being taken.

Photo Journalism
Some of the photo's used in photo journalism are not always telling the truth. This is because some of the photographs are changed into somthing that there not, this could be by taking people out of the picture, adding stuff to the picture or chosing the frame that they take a picture of.
Dicicive moment is a picture where if it was taken a second before or after it would have been different. Photographers would normally have to wait out for a long time before they take the perfect picture.
Leica camera was the first portable camera and was used by many rich photographers including Henri Cartier- Bresson. With the portable cameras it ment that the photographers could take photographs anywhere.
Robert Capa and Tony Vaccaro were war photographers on from in the World War Two, in which they saw and caught on camera some graphic photographs.
